House Epstein Vote & MBS In DC Today

Trump loves other dictators and "strong men" so after recently meeting with the Syria's Ahmed al-Sharaa (a leader of an armed terrorist group who overthrew Bashar al-Assad), today he has rolled out the royal treatment for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. MBS is the one who kidnapped The Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, tortured and dismembered him with a bone saw, and then dissolved his remains in a vat of acid. All of this because Khashoggi was writing articles that were critical of him. MBS is not someone who should have his reputation rehabilitated, and certainly doesn't deserve an invitation to the White House! But Trump is focused on his Quid Pro Quo, and has promised to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Trump also wants the Saudis to sign on to The Abraham Accords to normalize their relationship with Israel. MBS wants the jets, but also wants nuclear energy.

Also happening right now, is the fight in the US House of Representatives to force DOJ to release all of their files on Jeffrey Epstein. It's expected to pass the House, but still needs a vote in the Senate, and then would need Trump's signature. We're hoping it will pass with a veto-proof majority, but Senate Majority Leader Thune as far as I know hasn't scheduled a vote on it, and I don't know how many GOP senators are going to vote for it. This weekend, Trump reversed course and called for the files to be released. That must been he knows he is going to be protected somehow. It may be than DOJ plans on them being so heavily-redacted that they're useless. Now would be a good time to write your two senators and demand they release the files.

If you're wanting to torture yourself by watching the floor proceedings in the House, they have an hour of debate, then will recess until noon (ET) until picking up their legislative business. You can watch live here: https://live.house.gov/
