The White House isn't releasing details of their conversation, so we have to rely on Chinese state media. 🤬Xinhua is reporting: Xi said Taiwan's "return to China" is a key part of the post-war international order. He said, "China and the United States once fought side by side against fascism and militarism, and should now work together to safeguard the outcomes of World War Two." Because of the lack of transparency at the White House, we don't have a transcript and so we have no idea how Trump responded to Xi.

China claims Taiwan as it's territory, and hacked documents show their military plans (aided by Russia) to take the island by force in 2027. They also have their sights set on taking over the Philippines. These islands can't defend themselves from a military power like China, so it's up to the rest of the world to come to their defense.

There's a huge diplomatic rift between China and Japan, because Japan supports Taiwan's independence. China has warned their citizens to avoid travel to Japan, which is having a huge impact on Japanese tourism. The whole region is quickly becoming unstable.

The last thing our world needs is another forever war (especially another world war), but that's where this is headed. The people in every country should have a right to self-determination, and the ability to freely elect their own leaders. Taiwan should be independent, because that is what their people want. We should help defend them, and push back the Chinese and Russian aggression.
