In Massachusetts, they require the foster parents to respect each child’s chosen name, their pronouns, and their gender expression, prohibiting any attempts to change a youth’s identity. This is especially important to prevent "Christians" who want to perform harmful "conversion therapy" on kids.

The Supreme Court has recently heard a case where "Christians" claim religious freedom violations because of the many state bans on "conversion therapy."
