Collective Punishment of Immigrants And The National Guard Shooter

As soon as Trump learned the shooter of the two National Guard troops was an immigrant, the White Supremacist came out in him as he issued a deranged and hateful Thanksgiving rant about refugees and migrants. You can't blame and punish an entire group of people because of the actions of an individual, especially if they aren't the root cause of the problem.

As the facts come out, this was a failure of our government not in vetting migrants, but our lack of mental health services for everyone. The shooter worked with the CIA in Afghanistan, so he was thoroughly vetted by multiple federal agencies (USCIS, DHS, CIA, State Dept) on multiple occasions. This wasn't an immigration-related problem it was a mental health problem.

There is no telling the horrors the shooter witnessed while assisting the CIA as part of Zero Unit during a really fucked up war. He was married and had five young sons. After he arrived here, he started showing clear signs of severe depression and PTSD. In March of 2023, he suffered a mental breakdown and went downhill from there. The entire community noticed his troubled behavior, but nobody was able to get him the help he needed. The US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) even got involved, but was unable to help him as he switched between episodes of manic behavior and depression. He needed mental health services and medications. That in no way excuses what he did, but it certainly helps explain it.

Mental health resources are inaccessible for most people, and we have to fix that. Isolating people along racial lines or immigration status is not a solution to anything! Refugees from all countries deserve our help and compassion as they try to escape horrific conditions in their home countries. Many of those countries are unstable because our very own government (like the CIA) has intervened in an effort to choose their leaders.

The Supreme Court (through "Kavanaugh Stops") has ended the 4th Amendment protections to allow racial profiling. By Trump ending Temporary Protection Status (TPS) for Somalia and Haiti, that paints a target on the backs of all Black people who can be stopped and asked for their papers. As these White Supremacists clear out all of their targeted migrants, they will eventually use the surveillance and incarceration apparatus against all of their other enemies. Nobody is safe, because they'll target all minorities and voices of dissent. Trump and his racist cronies have got to go ASAP!

Here's more information on the shooter:
https://apnews.com/article/lakanwal-national-guard-shooting-suspect-afghan-5e5e9567d95a5d0ef806b714bb3ee3b7

To Hack AI Just Use Poetry

I've been saying that AI is great, but isn't ready for public use yet. Please don't carry on private conversations with AI chatbots or let AI have access to your private files! They are so easy to hack and get your data, and some AI's are using your private input to generate advertisements.

I recently posted a link to a GitHub account that has all of the initial prompts that are programmed into each major AI engine. It's important to understand the guardrails that are in place, and also learn how and when the AI is told to lie to you. If you jailbreak out of those guardrails, the AI will give you totally different results.

A recent study found something interesting: If you want to jailbreak out of the AI's guardrails, you just put your malicious prompt in the form of poetry. The study found "Poetic framing achieved an average jailbreak success rate of 62% for hand-crafted poems." 🤯

Here's the 16-page poetry research study by Icaro Lab called "Adversarial Poetry as a Universal Single-Turn Jailbreak Mechanism in Large Language Models":
https://arxiv.org/pdf/2511.15304

There's now enough evidence to start impeachment and prosecution for crimes against humanity. Under the law, you're not allowed to be the judge, jury, and executioner - but that's exactly what Trump and Hegseth have become by ordering our troops to strike alleged drug boats and to "leave no survivors." That explains why they demanded troops deployed in the region to sign the unusual Non-Disclosure Agreements, and why they lost their shit when six Democrats made a video reminding troops not to follow illegal orders. The orders being given to them are clearly illegal by both US and international law, and our troops can be personally held liable for carrying them out.

The most immediate way we have to stop this madness is through public pressure.
Trump's DOJ Wants Segregated Schools

The DOJ is fighting to have civil-rights era cases dismissed in an effort to segregate the schools again. They have claimed that racism no longer exists, and so those landmark cases are no longer necessary.

The Heritage Foundation wrote Project 2025, which the Trump administration has being using as their playbook. They have completely dismantled the Department of Education in an effort to turn the responsibility of schools back to the states. There's so many problems with that plan, not to mention the states can't afford it. Another huge problem is that many states aren't planning to offer the same civil rights protections to racial minorities and the disabled that were guaranteed by the federal government.

The Department of Justice is supposed to be fighting for those protections, but instead they're trying to remove them. The DOJ Civil Rights Division's new focus falls into three main areas: gun rights, religious freedom rights, and investigating the persecution of White people. The last two areas are closely related, because they are promoting Christian Nationalism, which is a racist and perverted interpretation of religion.

The latest DOJ legal moves have been focused on the State of Louisiana, where state officials have been trying to overturn those old civil rights cases. Instead of DOJ fighting to preserve the hard-earned protections, they are now fighting to remove them by claiming they are a federal intrusion into local school decisions. Dozens of those cases are still open or still have effective orders because the states have never fully accomplished de-segregation.

The DOJ lifted a 1966 order in Louisiana's Plaquemines Parish school district, and now they're trying to dismiss a 1965 case against the Concordia Parish school system in central Louisiana that was filed by Black families who were trying to gain access to the all-white school system.

Since the two (normally) opposing parties of the state and federal government are agreeing to have the case dismissed, that's usually what would have happened. Thankfully, Federal District Judge Dee Drell has rejected that idea. The judge wrote: “At the heart of this case is public policy and the protection of others, and the court has been tasked with ensuring the resolution of this matter in accordance with long established legal precedent." Judge Drell offered Concordia Parish a hearing to prove it has fully dismantled the state-sponsored racial segregation. On Tuesday, they appealed that order.

I can't believe that decades later, we are still having to re-fight these same battles. But here we are... Here's the court docket for Smith v. Concordia Parish (Case #1:65-cv-11577) that started in 1965 and is still ongoing:
https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/6105774/smith-v-concordia-parish/?order_by=desc

The War Powers Resolution was blocked in a vote by the GOP, so a war hasn't been authorized by Congress. The military strikes against alleged drug boats in Latin America are extrajudicial murders under both US and international law. Trump is rejecting a declaration of war saying, "We're just going to kill the people bringing drugs into our country." "We're going to kill them. So they're going to be, like, dead."

I want to see Trump and everyone else involved arrested and extradited to The Hague for those crimes. The former president of the Philippines is on trial right now for the exact same thing. Duterte carried out a "war on drugs" and killed thousands of innocent Filipinos. He was arrested and is charged with crimes against humanity.

The US doesn't participate in the International Criminal Court, but if anyone with an arrest warrant from ICC travels to a country that is a signatory to the Rome Statute, then they can be arrested and extradited. They also have their sights set on taking over the Philippines. These islands can't defend themselves from a military power like China, so it's up to the rest of the world to come to their defense.

There's a huge diplomatic rift between China and Japan, because Japan supports Taiwan's independence. China has warned their citizens to avoid travel to Japan, which is having a huge impact on Japanese tourism.
Trump's Pretext for War With Venezuela

Today, the US designated Cartel de los Soles (Cartel of the Suns) as a foreign terrorist organization. They plan to use this designation to delegitimize the government of Nicolás Maduro, and force a regime change. Much like Trump's Antifa designation, experts argue that the cartel doesn't have a leadership hierarchy, and is ideologically driven. This terrorism designation is clearly just a pretext for another never-ending war.

Covert CIA operations in Venezuela have been going on for many years, and with limited success. The US was able to accomplish small goals like disrupting their computer networks, but nothing they've done has resulted in regime change. They now plan to drop flyers over the country reminding people of the $50M reward leading to the arrest of Maduro. There are likely special forces being tasked with a mission to capture or kill Maduro.

The military has already given Trump a list of options to strike targets in Venezuela, mostly facilities that they believe are being used for drug trafficking. Their country has been assembling a large militia to help carry out guerrilla warfare against any of our troops that enter their country. Russia has given them lots of weapons which we can overpower, but not without risks.

War (except in special circumstances) is supposed to only be declared by Congress, and so far there haven't been any briefings to Congress that give a legitimate legal justification for these extrajudicial murders that the US has been carrying out on a regular basis. Trump has even made the troops deployed to the region sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), so he knows what he is doing is illegal under US and international law.

There have been talks of exiling Maduro to Russia or another country where he won't face jail. He seems open to talks, but as far as I know, nothing has been done on the diplomatic front to solve the situation. Because of our huge military industrial complex generating millions of dollars for our politicians, our government seems to think the solution to every conflict is spending lots of blood and treasure.

Here's the Wikipedia page on Cartel de los Soles:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartel_of_the_Suns

"The Alabama Solution" Documentary On Alabama Prison System

Today I was at the Montgomery screening of the documentary about the prison system in Alabama. We have to do something to fix this mess! If you haven't watched it, then you can stream it on HBO Max. It is eye-opening and shocking to watch. I always knew things were bad in Alabama Department of Corrections, but I had no idea the prison conditions are that bad!

The corrections officers are smuggling in contraband to the incarcerated, and they are earning thousands a day by selling them drugs and cellphones. The federal drug recovery program is being ran by one of the prisoners instead of having a certified counselor, so addiction runs throughout our prisons. Those that go into the system clean come out as drug addicts. Drug overdoses happen constantly, but they don't have access to Narcan or other medical supplies to treat them. There also needs to be mandatory autopsies for everyone who dies while in custody.

The 13th Amendment ends slavery for everyone except prisoners. We need to amend our Constitution to close that loophole. Alabama (and I'm sure other states) are leasing out the prisoners and using them for labor. Those that do get paid only earn between 25 cents and $2 per day of work. They even lease the people out to local businesses as labor. This is just institutionalized slavery and exploitation. It must end!

The parole board has a terrible record of not ever letting people out, so we need new members on that board. There are currently around 21,000 people incarcerated in Alabama. Instead of fixing the current broken system, Governor Kay Ivey's plan is to build more billion dollar mega-prisons, and she's taking the money from the education budget. Our politicians own stock in the private prison companies like CoreCivic, Geo Group, Management and Training Corporation (MTC), and LaSalle Corrections, so they make money each time a new person goes to prison. We need to have everyone divest from those stocks and end that practice of politicians that is a conflict of interest.

In April 2019, the US Department of Justice issue a damning report on the unconstitutional conditions in Alabama prisons, but nothing was ever done about it. "The Alabama Solution" to the problem (according to our governor) is to just build new prisons. We need DOJ to actually do something to correct the problem with federal oversight despite the stiff resistance from the state.

We also need to form an Independent Oversight Commission like some other states have done. Right now, the system investigates itself, so nothing is ever done. We need citizens to have the ability to inspect and report on the conditions without fear of retribution.

It goes without saying, we need to end the death penalty. We can't trust our state with the ability to inflict the ultimate punishment on people. We have put to death (murdered) too many people who were later exonerated through DNA and other evidence.

I hope all of you are able to see the film, and help me come up with more ideas on how to urgently fix this systemic injustice. Elections are important, especially local elections. Vote! ✊

National Security Presidential Memo 7 Targets Activists

By Trump designating foreign anti-fascist groups in Germany, Italy and Greece as "foreign terrorist organizations" they are able to enhance the prison sentence and fines for anyone they allege supports them. They've created an "antifa" bogeyman that doesn't exist. Antifa isn't an organization in the US, and there are no leaders to target.

The only people that actually exist are the anti-Trump and LGBTQIA+ protesters who have been clearly targeted by the memorandum by claiming: "Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality." That "traditional American views" phrase says a lot!

Under the umbrella of stopping "political violence" they create these broad definitions of groups that are open to interpretation. We've already seen arrests of people who committed no crime, but posted "concerning" things on social media that drew their attention so they claimed they had "suspected ties" to antifa. They are also targeting leftist organizations and their donors who are just exercising their First Amendment rights.

This memo not only mobilizes the police to target people, it uses the full force of the entire intelligence apparatus to investigate and prosecute voices of dissent. This memo takes us even further into the territory to having a fascist government ran by a mentally unwell authoritarian. We are all in danger!

Here's a link to the memo: Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence – The White House

You can stream it on HBO Max.

If you are interested in criminal justice reform and the death penalty, I highly recommend subscribing (free or paid) to the "Moth to Flame" newsletter by Beth Shelburne. She has covered crime for over 20 years as a news reporter, and she continues writing about the state of our criminal justice system.

Beth's latest writing is about the mindset that everyone in prison is evil and "deserves whatever they get" while incarcerated. That mindset makes it difficult to acknowledge the horrible conditions in Alabama facilities (and I'm sure across the country). Our current Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall is of that mindset, which is a big problem. We need prosecutors and AGs who enforce the law, but who are also compassionate and aware of the major causes of crime.

Here is Beth's latest newsletter:
https://bethshelburne.substack.com/p/do-the-crime-do-the-time

House Epstein Vote & MBS In DC Today

Trump loves other dictators and "strong men" so after recently meeting with the Syria's Ahmed al-Sharaa (a leader of an armed terrorist group who overthrew Bashar al-Assad), today he has rolled out the royal treatment for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. MBS is the one who kidnapped The Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, tortured and dismembered him with a bone saw, and then dissolved his remains in a vat of acid. All of this because Khashoggi was writing articles that were critical of him. MBS is not someone who should have his reputation rehabilitated, and certainly doesn't deserve an invitation to the White House! But Trump is focused on his Quid Pro Quo, and has promised to sell F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Trump also wants the Saudis to sign on to The Abraham Accords to normalize their relationship with Israel. MBS wants the jets, but also wants nuclear energy.

Also happening right now, is the fight in the US House of Representatives to force DOJ to release all of their files on Jeffrey Epstein. It's expected to pass the House, but still needs a vote in the Senate, and then would need Trump's signature. We're hoping it will pass with a veto-proof majority, but Senate Majority Leader Thune as far as I know hasn't scheduled a vote on it, and I don't know how many GOP senators are going to vote for it. This weekend, Trump reversed course and called for the files to be released. That must been he knows he is going to be protected somehow. It may be than DOJ plans on them being so heavily-redacted that they're useless. Now would be a good time to write your two senators and demand they release the files.

If you're wanting to torture yourself by watching the floor proceedings in the House, they have an hour of debate, then will recess until noon (ET) until picking up their legislative business. You can watch live here: https://live.house.gov/

UN Security Council Votes On Trump's Gaza Peace Plan

The UNSC is voting today on the 20-point peace plan which would create an international security force and a transitional government. A Board of Peace will last two years and work to disarm Hamas and other militants, and then control the redevelopment of Gaza. Trump would "oversee" the board (a bad idea!). The proposal does suggest the formation of a separate Palestinian state (a great idea that's necessary for lasting peace), but Israel is vociferously opposed to that. China or Russia could veto the entire plan, and Russia has created their own peace plan for the region.

The ceasefire hasn't really held, as violence on both sides has broken out every day since the agreement was signed. Hamas has never agreed to disarm, and there are over 100 armed Hamas fighters holed up beyond Israeli lines in Rafah. They have barricaded themselves in underground tunnels, and are refusing to surrender. They are asking for a safe passage to return, but Israel refuses. Hamas also rejects the peace plan because they say it is an "attempt to subject the Gaza Strip to international authority." I'm not sure how Trump expects phase two of his plan to happen without an agreement from Hamas to disarm.

The US is talking about building a huge military base "near" Gaza, so I guess Trump plans on putting American boots on the ground there, but they say the troops would only have a "supportive" role. Israel keeps objecting to certain countries participating in an international security force, and not many countries are rushing to volunteer.

Meanwhile in Israel, crazy ass extreme right-wing National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is calling for all Palestinian Authority leaders to be executed if a Palestinian state is declared. Crime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing his own crisis as he keeps trying to avoid his corruption trial. Trump has asked their President to pardon him. There are large protests (over 100,000 people) in their streets because the investigation into the October 7th terror attacks is being conducted by his own government instead of creating a state commission to investigate. Netanyahu allegedly allowed the attack to happen so he'd have a pretext for declaring war and carrying out the Gaza genocide.

In the Gaza strip, winter is coming and their tents just got flooded by heavy rains. The conditions are horrific. Israel won't allow American doctors into Gaza to treat people, and they're keeping out the critical supplies they need to rebuild shelters before the harsh winter arrives. There's mostly nothing left but rubble, and those who have homes that survived the war are being violently attacked by Israeli "settlers" who are claiming their land. They also aren't allowing them to harvest their olives. The IDF has been defending them. Israel's "yellow line" that takes over half of Gaza needs to disappear, and all of those "settlers" need to be pushed back into Israel.

Trump's plan to rebuild Gaza is in shambles because of the price tag and the horrible job it entails. Countries haven't donated enough money just for Gaza's basic needs, much less given the resources to rebuild the region. From the genocide, there are around 14,000 corpses still buried in the rubble, so rebuilding is quite an unpleasant task. It's also going to very costly, and I think the USA and Israel should have to pay for all of it!

Here's an article that gives some facts and figures on the daunting task of rebuilding the Gaza strip:
https://inews.co.uk/news/world/trump-thought-gulf-monarchs-rebuild-gaza-told-them-plan-4046318

Gen Z Is Toppling Corrupt Governments

We've already seen Gen Z protesters topple two corrupt governments this year, and the young people are just getting started!

First, they toppled the corrupt government in Nepal. They forced the prime minister to resign, they dissolved their House of Representatives, and installed an interim government to oversee new elections. Then, in Madagascar they forced their president to flee the capital for trying to run for another term, and so the military took over an interim government. They've also held massive protests in Morocco, Peru, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, to take on issues like corruption, economic inequality, and political instability.

Today, the young people in Mexico have attacked the riot police and dismantled barricades surrounding the National Palace in Mexico City because of the cartel violence. They feel like many of their politicians are complicit in protecting the cartels that influence their local elections and governance through assassinations and violence.

And in the Philippines, there are hundreds of thousands of people protesting on the streets of Manila after it was revealed many of their elected officials stole the funds that were intended for flood control projects.

I hope we will see the young people in the US being inspired by the actions of their peers across the globe, and take to the streets to help us protest our corrupt government here. Gen Z has their future at stake, so my only question is "Who is next???" ✊
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gen_Z_protests

War With Venezuela - Land Targets Identified

With the massive aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford now in position, the US has more than enough military assets to strike and invade both land and sea targets in Latin America. They are using the "war on drugs" as a pretext for regime change. Maduro is a cruel dictator and needs to go, but like all of our other meddling in countries around the world, there is no plan for what happens next or who will take the toppled government over if/when we leave.

A classified Trump DoJ memo claims that US troops are not liable for the strikes against alleged "drug boats" but the legal experts disagree. The memo claims the 'non-international armed conflict' is carried out under Article II (Executive Branch) authorities, which is bullshit. Congress is the only one with the power to declare war, and they have not done so. The GOP did block a resolution trying to prevent a war with Venezuela, which leaves Trump an opening to strike. He is trying to fabricate a "war" in order to get around the murder statutes.

Even if we were to believe these strikes were legal under US law (and they are not), they are still clearly in violation of the UN and international laws. Our troops could still be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the crimes they commit. The USA is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, but if they ever visit a country that is a member they can be arrested and extradited to The Hague. We can also learn a lot from the Nuremberg Trials against the Nazis in Germany where 199 defendants were tried, 161 were convicted, and 37 were sentenced to death for their war crimes, crimes against humanity, and their conspiracy to commit those crimes.

Our troops are typically held accountable through the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The UCMJ allows murders (Article 118) and assaults (Article 128) even in time of war to be prosecuted by military courts (Article 18). The UCMJ also specifically says that a president cannot authorize troops to commit crimes that are also violations of the law of war. Officers can also be held accountable.

Our troops deployed to Latin America operations have been forced to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which is very unusual, because they are already restricted by other laws. The Trump administration knows what it is doing is illegal, but doesn't seem to care.

Venezuela has already activated it's military and called up militia groups who are ready to defend their homeland. Maduro is exaggerating about the numbers, but they have enough assets to cause our troops a problem with guerilla warfare. Striking Venezuela is not only illegal, it is going to be a big mistake!

How Can You Get Involved in Anti-Trump Resistance?

If you attended the No Kings protest, you should be receiving news alerts about ongoing resistance activities in your community and across the nation. Between the national protests, there are lots of local activities that you can be involved in, as well as other related activist groups who organize their own anti-Trump actions. If you didn't attend any of the first two nationwide protests, you can still join to participate in the upcoming No Kings 3.0 protest that is being organized, as well as their other upcoming events.

In Chicago, Portland, and other communities that are under attack by ICE, they are organizing groups to assemble and distribute ICE kits that contain whistles and multi-lingual Know Your Rights cards. You loudly blow the whistle with three short bursts if you see federal agents, and you loudly blow three long bursts if you see a detention or police action in progress. Keep blowing your whistle until a crowd shows up, and if you hear whistles being blown then you should find them and record what is going on. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has a People Power group, offers legal assistance, and has lots of other important information for activists.

The Black Voters Matter Fund has lots of actions planned, including their We Ain't Buying It pledge campaign to use our economic power to force change by boycotting companies that don't support the community. Voting with your wallet is one way for all of us to make a difference, regardless of our financial resources. Grassroots organizations like the Black Voters Matter Fund, Indivisible, and Until Freedom organize local events, and they are urging shoppers to boycott companies who reneged under pressure from Trump on their promise of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts such as Target, Amazon, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Ford, Wal-Mart, Harley-Davidson, John Deere, and Tesla. The goal is to support the retailers that have stood up to Trump, as well as the Black, minority, and immigrant-owned businesses, and all of the small and local businesses who support the community.

Blackout The System is a national movement across all races, cultures and classes to strategically and peacefully withdraw our labor and spending. They have planned a Mass Blackout for November 25th through December 2nd where participants will limit their spending by only using cash and supporting local businesses if you need to spend money. You can sign up for more upcoming events, as well as learn about divestment and mutual aid projects.

On Veterans Day, there are lots of anti-Trump protests organized in several major cities across the country. The "Vets Say No" protests are organized by the veterans group About Face, and May Day Strong, which is an anti-authoritarian movement. The "Vets Say No" protests are to say “no to ICE, no to occupation, no to fascism, and no to cuts stripping away life saving services our communities need.”

For separation of Church and State issues, I recommend joining Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Their motto is “Freedom Without Favor, Equality Without Exception” and they do great work! There's also the Southern Poverty Law Center who is great at racial justice issues. And there is the Equal Justice Initiative that has some must-see museums like their Legacy Sites in Montgomery, Alabama. My visit to their Legacy Museum, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park really was eye-opening and life-changing.

For LGBTQIA+ activism, I love working with groups such as the Human Rights Campaign, the National Center for LGBTQ Rights, GLAAD, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays PFLAG, Lambda Legal, and the National LGBTQ Task Force, just to name a few. Many of these groups are organized at the local level in order to provide vital services for the community, and so it's easy to get involved.

For political activism, there are the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) who organize local events such as protests and mutual aid.

Regardless of your interests, you should be able to find several groups where you can get involved with local activism. All of the groups that I have mentioned support change through non-violent actions, so be sure to leave your weapons at home (even if they're legal), and commit to de-escalation with counter-protesters and authorities.

Did I leave out an organization that deserves to be listed? There are so many to choose from, but if you have suggestions and are a site member, please leave a comment below.

The notorious Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is taking cases where "Christian" foster parents claim the religious freedom not to sign a nondiscrimination agreement that affirms the gender identity and sexual orientation of the children. The agreement is required so that LGBTQIA+ children are placed in safe homes.

In Massachusetts, they require the foster parents to respect each child’s chosen name, their pronouns, and their gender expression, prohibiting any attempts to change a youth’s identity. This is especially important to prevent "Christians" who want to perform harmful "conversion therapy" on kids.

The Supreme Court has recently heard a case where "Christians" claim religious freedom violations because of the many state bans on "conversion therapy." We should receive a decision on that case by June, but we also need to monitor these harmful ADF cases that are working their way through the courts.🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Another leak has tens of thousands of emails and file attachments from Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor. Another has over 25,000 emails and attachments from Benny Gantz. From a hack of the Israeli Ministry of Justice the dataset contains 800,000 emails in HTML format, over 700,000 image files, 200,000 documents, and thousands of spreadsheets and presentations.
An Autopsy of the USA (1776-2026): RIP The American Dream

It probably isn't news to anyone that Americans are really struggling, but our economy is now in a freefall and it is going to crash hard. People will often point to the stock market as a sign of good economic health, but the wealthiest 1% own 40% of stocks. The stock market has been buoyed by technology and artificial intelligence companies that are greatly overvalued. Just like the 1989 dot com crash, these companies have valuations and debts that will never be supported by their future sales. There is enough momentum to maybe keep those companies afloat for a few more years, but it is a bubble that will eventually pop. We should see a massive stock market correction in the very near future.

The USA has $38T in debt, gaining the fastest $1T since the pandemic. Trump's “Big Beautiful Bill” will nearly double the debt, at a time when our interest payments on the debt is approaching our Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Twenty-two states are already in a recession. Consumers are also drowning in debt, and so car repossessions are rapidly increasing with a $1.66T auto debt crisis. The average price of a car is now $50,000. Average monthly payments for new vehicles exceed $750, with about one in five borrowers facing payments over $1,000 per month. Car insurance premiums have jumped 19% in the past year, and car repair costs are up 33% since 2020. An rapidly increasing percentage of borrowers are delinquent in their auto loans leading to repossession. Many car owners are “underwater” where they owe more than the car is worth. Student loan debts hit a record high of $1.65T with nearly 10% of those debt payments being more than 90 days overdue, and the delinquency problem is growing. Total household debt has reached $18.59T.

One-half of workers are relying on their debt just to buy the essentials, so we also have a $1T credit card debt crisis. The average credit card debt is $7,321 while the credit card rates just hit a 13 year high. Half of Americans have their paycheck gone in just 2 days, and many of the high-earners are living paycheck to paycheck. Electricity bills are up 11%. Foreclosures have surged 17%, as the housing market hits a 30 year low. Insurance rates have skyrocketing with some companies leaving entire states behind. In California, the companies fled because of the wildfire risk, and in Florida they fled because of the hurricanes and flooding risk. There is no affordable housing to be found, and the price of food has soared because of tariffs and inflation. Wages haven't even come close to keeping up with the rapid rise in inflation and cost of living. Many young people are having to put off marriage because they can't afford to start a family. People also can't afford their pets, so animal surrenders at the shelters have increased.

Health care costs have made medical care unobtainable by millions of Americans, and rural hospitals have been closing their doors. Doctors are no longer able to be recruited because of the $100,000 H1-B visa fee and crackdown on legal immigration. Prescription drug prices are too high and going up, ACA premiums rose 30%, and in some states by much more. Medical costs now outpace inflation by 40%.

Our economy is in danger because many companies that have been around for decades are closing up shop. Even the large and profitable companies are laying off employees by the thousands. They've already passed on over half of the tariffs to the consumer, while trying to absorb the rest. In order to retain their profitability, companies either will have to pass all of it on the the consumer and/or greatly reduce their staff and investments in the future. And when prices go up, they rarely come back down. 81% of Gen X will rely on Social Security, and the experts say that it will be insolvent by 2033. The problem is much greater because of the immigration crackdown and our birth rate. Immigrants pay into the system and keep it afloat for the rest of us. Without a reversal of course, I think we'll see a social security crisis before 2033.

Farmers really got screwed over (but they overwhelming voted for it). The US bailed out Argentina by exchanging $40B with their pesos. That is an investment we'll likely never make back. Beef prices are up 16% this year, so Trump is ordering beef from Argentina to be imported. The price of bananas is up 5%. In the latest big “deal” Trump made with Xi, China has reduced the tariffs on some goods while keeping the tariff on imported soybeans at 16%. Meanwhile, this administration is spending $3B to bailout the farmers from a self-created crisis. Despite the bailout, 500,000 farm families are still facing bankruptcy. “Shrinkflation” has been happening across the board, as companies reduce the size of their packaging, or use deceptive packaging to make it seem like you are buying the same amount of product for the same price.

What is the government doing address these problems? Trump has remodeled the Lincoln bathroom, demolished the entire White House east wing to build a $300M ballroom, and is preparing to build a ridiculous arch in front of the Lincoln Memorial. DHS, police, and the military are way over-funded with most of the money going to private military contractors. Both parties have committed the sin of giving almost unlimited funds to the military industrial complex while the people are struggling to make ends meet. On Halloween, while millions of Americans were waiting in lines at the food pantry because of the suspension of SNAP benefits and the longest government shutdown in history, Trump held a “Great Gatsby” ball at Mar-a-Lago where they used the theme from a song from the movie that's called "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody".

The “American Dream” as we've always know it is completely dead now, and we have problems that will take many generations to resolve. Our current trajectory is simply not sustainable, and so major changes will have to be made. Who will be the courageous leaders who will guide us out of this mess? Only time will tell. Empires rise, and empires fall. By nearly every measure the USA is a failed nation-state. The current iteration of the American Empire and experiment in democracy lasted 250 years. Let's hope the next iteration is more stable, equitable, and democratic - but for now I pronounce the USA is dead and this blog post serves as its autopsy.

Whistleblower Speaks Out on War Crimes & Gaza Update

The ceasefire has been violated by both sides every day since it was signed. Hamas is rearming themselves to reassert their control, and Israel has created a “yellow line” where they still control half of the Palestinian land. Those trying to return to their homes either find nothing but rubble, or they find Israeli “settlers” have claimed their properties and are not even allowing them to harvest their olives. The only way to achieve peace in Gaza is to disarm and eliminate Hamas, and also getting Israel to give up all of the land they have annexed. There also has to be reckoning for the war crimes committed by Israel and backed by the USA.

Hackers have done their jobs by penetrating all of the Israeli systems and providing evidence of their crimes, but nation-state actors are also involved, and they are altering and sometimes completely fabricating the evidence. A good source for reliable hacked files is DDOSecrets.

Last month, US Army veteran Anthony Aguilar held a discussion where he described the war crimes that he personally witnessed as a security subcontractor for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. He is a highly decorated former Special Forces Green Beret who spent 25 years in the Army, and received a Purple Heart for his wounds suffered in combat. He recently disrupted a Senate Foreign Relations Committee confirmation hearing to denounce the US complicity in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Aguilar has been meeting with lawmakers, protesting major speeches over US complicity in war crimes, and continuing to speak out about the abuses he witnessed first-hand. In this livestream recording, he is hosted by Chip Gibbons of Defending Rights & Dissent who frequently reports on whistleblowers and those who sound the alarm on human rights abuses committed in the name of national security.

Here's a recording of the livestream: https://www.rightsanddissent.org/news/event-anthony-aguilar-on-gazas-death-traps-live-in-washington-d-c/

Election Day - Here's What I'm Watching

In many states today, voters go to the polls and the GOP has already made plans to subvert our democratic elections which should give us a preview of what's to come in the general elections where they'll try to retain their death grip on power.

In NYC, the New Yorkers are expected to elect democratic socialist Mandini as mayor. Mandini won the primary, which caused Cuomo to run as an independent. The GOP candidate is a red beret-wearing Sliwa. Knowing that Mandini will likely win, MAGA has endorsed Cuomo. I'm excited that a democratic socialist might be mayor of New York City. We need more DSA candidates across the country!

In California, voters are considering Prop 50 redistricting which is expected to pass. I'm against gerrymandering (by any party) but this is a necessary response to the GOP gerrymandering several states in order to erase Black voters, and giving Trump more House seats to retain their majority.

In New Jersey, voters are deciding between Mikie Sherrill (D) and Jack Ciattarelli (R) for governor. Polls show a close race, but Sherrill is expected to win.

In Virginia, they will elect their first female governor by either choosing Abigail Spanberger (D) or Winsome Earle-Sears (R). The GOP has been running lots of anti-transgender ads, but thankfully they don't seem to be motivating their voters as much as they used to.

We may not know who the winners are today, as the mail-in votes have to be counted and there will likely be legal challenges as the GOP tries to further disenfranchise the voters. Here's more analysis:
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0qp5yjd253o

Abuse of The Espionage Act

I'm not going to defend John Bolton, but he is the latest victim of the USA abusing the antiquated and broken Espionage Act. In my recent post about the prosecution of whistleblowers, I mentioned many of the recent high-profile cases where the act was abused to prosecute people who didn't carry out any espionage. One of the best examples is Reality Winner who served out her jail time for releasing a single secret NSA document that proved Russia hacked our election systems. Trump prosecuted her and Biden refused to pardon her, so she languished in prison for years over a very patriotic act. Since 2009, we've seen a dramatic increase in prosecutions under the act because the accused can't present any evidence in their defense if everything is classified.

In order for Google and Amazon to win Israeli contracts, they were required to agree to use a "secret" code to alert Israel whenever their data was handed over to any authorities. They would send Israel a payment with the first three digits of the sum being the telephone dialing code of the country that requested data. Israel has been committing lots of international crimes, including war crimes and genocide that they want to keep hidden from the public.
